🌸 AI Literacy Activity: Refining Prompts, Refining Our Contribution
Part 1: Context and Alignment
Every journey of learning begins with a question. The quality of the answer depends on the clarity of our intent. Artificial Intelligence reflects this truth sharply: vague prompts create vague answers, while refined prompts open new pathways of insight.
🌍 India today stands at a turning point. Leaders across the country are recognizing that AI literacy must be for everyone, not just specialists.
- Abhishek Singh, former President & CEO of Digital India Corporation, has often emphasized that AI must become a part of everyday life in India, supporting education, governance, and citizen services.
- Prof. Pushpak Bhattacharyya, former Director of IIT Patna and a pioneer in natural language processing, has underlined the importance of teaching AI in ways that are accessible, ethical, and inclusive — especially in regional languages.
Their vision aligns deeply with NEP 2020 and the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) framework. AI literacy is not just about technology — it is about cultivating clarity, critical thinking, and contextual relevance.
This activity captures that spirit. By teaching students to refine prompts, we teach them to refine their own leadership intent: to move from vague aspiration to actionable contribution.
Part 2: How to Conduct the Activity (Guide for Activity Facilitator)
Dear Facilitator,
This is not a technical exercise. It is a reflection disguised as an AI workshop. Your role is to help participants see and feel how sharper questions lead to sharper answers. Follow these steps:
- Begin with the Theme 🇮🇳
- Write on the board: “How can I contribute to my nation?”
- Tell the group: “Today, we will learn how the clarity of our intent shapes not only AI’s answers, but also our own lives as future leaders.”
- Introduce the 5 Prompts (One by One) 🌱
- Share each prompt with the group (on WhatsApp or verbally).
- Ask students to copy-paste into ChatGPT (or any AI tool).
- After each response, pause for 1–2 minutes of silent observation.
- Facilitate Reflection After Each Prompt 🌿
- Ask: “Is this answer different from the last one?”
- “What changed when we added more detail?”
- “Does it feel more useful? Why?”
- Close with the Final Prompt (No. 5) 🌸
- This will generate a clear one-year contribution plan.
- Tell them: “Do you see how refining a question turns a vague dream into a practical roadmap?”

- Say: “Prompt literacy is life literacy. In AI and in leadership, the clarity of your intent will always decide the clarity of your path. If you want to serve your nation, learn first to ask better questions.”

- Remind students to fill out the daily feedback form.
- Suggest they write one line about what they discovered about themselves through this exercise.
